Ministry of Education and Science (MES) of the Donetsk People’s Republic is a republican body of executive authority providing and implementing state policy in the sphere of education and science, accountable, controlled and responsible to the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Council of Ministers of the People’s Republic of Donetsk.
The Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the DPR is PhD Public Administration, Professor Larisa Polyakova who is the Minister of Education and Science. Legal address: 34, Pushkin Boulevard, Donetsk, Donetsk People’s Republic.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the People’s Republic of Donetsk is responsible for drafting and implementing state policy and normative legal regulation in the following areas:
– Education;
– Scientific, scientific-technical and innovative activity;
– Development of regional centers of science and high technology, public research centers;
– Intellectual property;
– Social assistance and social protection of students;
– Youth policy,
as well as
– Provision of public services in the sphere of education, training, scientific, technical and innovation activities, including science and high technology regional centers, public research centers;
– State property management in the sphere of education, training, scientific, technical and innovation activities, including science and high technology regional centers, public research centers;
– Information support of scientific, technical and innovation activities as well as in the field of education, guardianship and custody of children, social support and protection of students and pupils of educational institutions.
The Ministry of Education and Science carries out coordination and control (supervision) over the activities of educational institutions and institutions in the field of science and innovation, regardless of their subordination and form of ownership in its charge.
The Ministry of Education and Science is governed by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of Donetsk, the laws adopted by the People’s Republic of Donetsk, normative legal acts of the Head of Donetsk People’s Republic and the Council of Ministers of Donetsk People’s Republic, international treaties of the People’s Republic of Donetsk.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Donetsk People’s Republic carries out its activities directly and through its subordinate organizations, in cooperation with other bodies of executive power, local authorities, public associations and other organizations.
